Creative Bible Study Methods

One of the great benefits of studying the Bible is the cleansing effect the Word of God has upon the
heart. Jesus said, “You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you” (John 15:3).

The telegram or cablegram uses as few words as possible to communicate the message. The
“Biblegram” method is an attempt to communicate the essential message in as few words as possible.
Reduce the message of the passage to under $10.00 at a cost of fifty cents a word.

Many people find it necessary to wear glasses. Your prayer should be that of the psalmist: “Open my
eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law” (Psalm 119:18). You need to put on your spiritual
“specs” to see yourself as God see you, so the Holy Spirit can use the Bible to search your heart and
point out your sins.

The study of words of Scripture is a rewarding way to study the Bible. It takes time and effort and
requires some tools, but it sheds light upon the message of the Word in ways the other methods cannot.
